Adjustable Strut Cup Weld Fixture

Description

This unique Adjustable Strut Cup Weld Fixture helps to prevent two common issues that occur when installing Adjustable Strut Cups. First off is proper alignment due to bearing movement when fabricating. Second is thread deformation in the steel cup from welding.

ALIGNMENT
The TMR-2400WF Weld Fixture simulates the location of a spherical bearing and 11/16 reducer bushing housed in your adjustable body assembly (TMR-2400B). By eliminating the bearing, the fixture ensures that the strut and steel cup remain perfectly aligned during fabrication.

Installing the steel cup in alignment with the strut shaft will provide full angular movement of the bearing after installation and prevent binding.

THREAD DAMAGE
A common issue when installing Adjustable Strut Cups is thread deformation from the welding process. To correct this, you typically must purchase an expensive tap or buy a new Steel Cup to replace the damaged component.

When used properly, the fixture can help retain the steel cup’s threads during the welding process. Additionally, the fixture keeps your adjustable body (TMR-2400B) in pristine condition for final assembly.
