Description

With evolution of large diameter carbon fiber drive shafts, longer suspension travel and popularity of smaller tires, the dynamics of a chassis vary greatly during a trip down the racetrack.

When running certain combinations and set-ups, clearance issues can arise from a changing driveline angle during long suspension travel.

Due this, some cars may benefit from installing a rear cross member that provides additional room for the drive shaft to safely operate over the rear cross member of chassis.

This dropped cross member provides an additional 1-5/8” of clearance for the drive shaft. Pre-bent from 1-5/8” O.D. x 0.083 Wall 4130 Chromoly Steel, the dropped cross member measures 65” wide to fit all of our existing chassis kits.

When purchased as a Chassis Kit Upgrade, additional 1-5/8” O.D. x 0.083 Wall 4130 tubing is provided for gusseting the rear cross member to your frame rails. The 360 Degree Drive Shaft Loop (TMR-1053) is also upgrade to a Variable Height Drive Shaft Loop, with two uprights and upper half loop that can be located to fit your configuration.
