Rojas Races to NEOPMA Victory at Maple Grove Raceway’s Pro Mod Wars
(9-8-2014) MOHNTON, PA – Isaias Rojas and the Mech-Tech Team had their 08’ Tim McAmis Pro Mod Cobalt ready for action and proved it with an impressive win at the Latin American Sports Compact III Event at Maple Grove Raceway this past weekend. Isaiah’s consistency was awesome, running two 5.95’s in elimination’s and a 5.94 in the final to win and set the Maple Grove track record.
Conditions were awesome for elimination’s on Sunday, but Saturday’s weather had a few thunderstorms pass through in combination with a few Import oil downs and incidents cut three qualifiers down to two. The big story Saturday was points leader Fred Scriba not qualifying leaving the door open for Dwayne Wolfe and Craig Pio to close the gap on the points leader.
“This event was in partnership with Ivan Mejias, club sponsor and owner of USA Auto Supply at his 3rd annual Latin American Sports Compact III event,” said John Mazzorana NEOPMA President. “It was a well-organized event with thousands of fans in attendance and loving the action. Overall for the year, we have had 50+ different Pro Mods attend at least one of our events. That says something positive about quarter mile Pro Mod action on the East Coast.”
Fred Scriba maintains First place in points, with Dwayne Wolfe 41 points behind and Craig Pio a little over two rounds behind with one point’s event remaining October 18th at Atco Dragway. That event will determine the 2014 NEOPMA Champion.
